The ABOM Exam is the certification examination offered by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM). It is designed to assess physicians' knowledge and competency in the practice of obesity medicine. Passing the exam and earning ABOM diplomate status demonstrates that a physician has met rigorous standards and hold specialized expertise in obesity care.

The OMA's Review Course for the ABOM Exam counts for 12 of the 30 GROUP ONE CME credits required to sit for the exam. When bundled with the Additional Study Courses (19 CME/CE), physicians can earn 31 of the required 30 GROUP ONE credits.
For the current exam cycle, GROUP ONE credits include any AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ offered by ABOM’s Primary Obesity Medicine CME partners, including the Obesity Medicine Association.
