Banner – University Medical Center Tucson is seeking a BE/BC Obesity Medicine Physician to join our expanding weight-management program as the Obesity Medicine Specialist. This physician will collaborate closely with the Director of the Bariatric Surgery Program and the Chair of Family Medicine. This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, MBSAQIP-accredited bariatric surgery program supported by bariatric surgeons, nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, and psychologists.

Position Responsibilities

· Foster strong collaborative relationships across the Departments of Surgery and Family Medicine to provide optimal care for patients with obesity.

· Participate in a multidisciplinary team offering both surgical and non-surgical weight-management options.

· Support the development and maintenance of BUMCT’s Bariatric Surgery and Obesity Medicine services.

· Provide ongoing care for patients preparing for, or post, bariatric surgery.

· Manage patients pursuing non-surgical weight-management therapies.

· Engage in education, training, and clinical research opportunities.

· Work collegially with faculty, staff, and administrative teams.

· Increase community awareness of bariatric and obesity medicine programs.

· Identify opportunities for program growth and continuous quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

· Previous experience managing patients with obesity or completion of a fellowship in Obesity Medicine is preferred.

· MD or DO degree.

· Board Certification in Family Medicine preferred.

· Arizona medical license (or eligibility by hire date).

· Board Certified or Board Eligible through ABOM.

· Strong desire to work in an academic medical setting.

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $238,500 to $392,500.
