Dr. Carl Knopke is the medical director of Inland Empire Weight Loss in Riverside, California. He is board certified in Obesity Medicine and Family Medicine. Since 2004, he has maintained an active private practice in Family Medicine and has been active in Obesity Medicine since 2007. He is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the University of California Riverside School of Medicine. In 2014 he became a member of the Board of Trustees for the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA). He has intermittently given the Behavioral Therapy and Epidemiology and Determinants of Obesity lectures for the OMA board preparation course for Obesity Medicine certification.

Dr. Knopke completed his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at UCLA. He graduated medical school from the University of Texas in San Antonio and then completed his residency in Family Medicine at Riverside County Regional Medical Center where he was Chief Resident. His primary medical interests include treating diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and arthritis using the tenants of Obesity Medicine. He also has special interests in psychiatry, psychology and exercise physiology and how they can be applied to treat obesity.
