The first requirement in earning your Obesity Medicine Association micro-credential is to take the Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment course. The on-demand version of the course provides the initial 5 CME/CE required for earning your micro-credentials.
If you have attended the live Fundamentals course or completed the on-demand version within the last 2 years, you have satisfied this requirement and can move on to earning your micro-credentials!

How to Earn Your Micro-credentials
Once you've completed the Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment course, start earning your micro-credentials!
Enroll in each micro-credential and complete the 6 CME/CE to earn the badge. Upon completion of the required courses, you will be issued a badge and a certificate.

To earn a micro-credential badge, learners must complete:
- The Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment course (if not already completed within 24 months)
- The designated micro-credential pathway courses for each topic area

The Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment is required in order to begin earning micro-credentials. It only needs to be taken once, and then multiple micro-credentials may be earned. If a clinician has completed the Fundamentals course within the past 24 months before pursuing a micro-credential, it does not have to be retaken.

Once the Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment course and all required coursework within a micro-credential pathway are completed in the OMA Academy, the corresponding micro-credential badge is awarded to the learner.
