Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment – Live Virtual is a hybrid course (on-demand + live virtual) that introduces evidence-based approaches to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating obesity in clinical practice.
Designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinicians-in-training, and other healthcare professionals, the course covers obesity as a chronic disease, its pathophysiology, patient evaluation, and ethical, non-stigmatizing communication. Participants learn treatment strategies across the four pillars of obesity care: nutrition therapy, physical activity, behavioral modification, and medical interventions.
The course includes a combination of on-demand courses and interactive live virtual case studies, offered on select Saturdays in 2026. Participants collaborate in Zoom breakout groups to develop comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans. See the "Fundamentals Course Schedule" below for more details including course titles and Saturday schedule.
This course helps clinicians build foundational knowledge in obesity treatment, whether to pursue advanced education in obesity medicine or to confidently refer patients to specialized care.
