Aligning Patient, Care Partner, and Provider Priorities for the Management of Obesity
Explore Aligning Patient, Care Partner, and Provider Priorities for the Management of Obesity! This program features 2 highly interactive educational activities: One for healthcare professionals and the other for people with obesity and their care partners.
The CME-certified clinician activity features game-based modules that explore obesity science, assessment, management, and strategies for positive discussions with patients and their care partners. The pathology and neurobiology of obesity are explored through a puzzle-based format. Learners can then apply assessment strategies using a case-based platform ranking clinical decisions based on guidelines, evidence, and best practices. A summary of obesity medications, with a deep dive into the safety and efficacy of glucagon-like peptide 1-based therapies, is provided in an easy-to-navigate infographic. Supplemental videos exploring patient and care partner communication strategies surrounding obesity and its treatment options will complement the series.
This fun and informative modular educational activity designed for people living with obesity and their social support circle pairs game-based learning with facts, expert insights, and real-world experiences. Learners will explore how obesity affects the body, why it is considered a chronic disease, and why losing weight is so challenging in Operation Obesity. Using a competitive lightning-round platform, learners can test their knowledge and watch as medical experts dispel common myths surrounding obesity and its treatment. Finally, the impact of obesity on family and close connections, support strategies, and addressing biases will be explored in a fact-or-fiction bullseye target game.
We hope this program will empower people living with obesity, their loved ones, and the clinicians who care for them to engage in open, informed, and compassionate conversations that support personalized and sustainable treatment decisions and foster a shared path to better health and well-being.
