Fundamentals of Obesity Treatment is a 1.5-day live, virtual course (up to 9.75 CME/CE) offering introductory education about the evidence-based approaches for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating obesity in a clinical setting. The content is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinicians-in-training, and other healthcare providers who treat patients with the disease of obesity. The first day of the course includes lectures on the main topics of obesity treatment. The second day of the course features interactive case discussions utilizing the knowledge from the previous day.

The Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

  • The Obesity Medicine Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 9.5 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
