The agenda for Overcoming Obesity 2023 is now available to view! The Overcoming Obesity 2023 conference in San Antonio, TX, Oct 25-29 is the perfect place to help you expand or begin your obesity medicine expertise. You can customize your conference experience and earn up to 30 CME/CE by registering for Overcoming Obesity 2023 (Oct 27-29) by itself, or you can add on two more days of hands-on learning by registering for one of two courses on Oct 25-26. Course Option 1: Building an Obesity Treatment Plan: Advanced Cases

Using the Obesity Medicine Association’s four pillars of clinical obesity treatment, learn how to develop obesity treatment plans for patients with complex diseases, conditions, and lifestyle factors. This case-based course is intended to build upon the core concepts of obesity medicine and help you gain the skills to implement more advanced techniques in your practice. You’ll use real-life cases to practice building individualized treatment plans from start to finish. Learn how to manage obesity in four common patient case scenarios: Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Nutritional Interventions in the Complex Patient, Coronary Artery Disease and Obesity Treatment, and Complex Conditions around Bariatric Surgery, and explore the impact of obesity treatment on each of these associated patient scenarios.

Course 2: Culinary Medicine Workshop

Culinary medicine provides a unique opportunity to combine education and practical application of healthy dietary patterns. Participants will learn the components of teaching kitchens and the field of culinary medicine—including the various types of models used, populations served, and interprofessional team members involved. The attendees will get to participate in hands-on cooking demonstrations and cooking challenges. Participants will receive several recommended resources to learn more about integrating teaching kitchens into clinical practice. This is a hands-on workshop to inspire the integration of culinary medicine into clinical obesity medicine practice. The workshop is facilitated by an interprofessional collaboration of culinary medicine experts.
