DENVER, Colo., Nov 10, 2022 – The Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) announced their 2022 Award Winners at the recent Overcoming Obesity conference in Anaheim, CA in October. The six OMA Awards are presented annually at the fall conference to clinicians whose outstanding achievements are deserving of special recognition.

The OMA Award Winners are:

Obesity Medicine Clinician of the Year

Sandra Christensen

Sandra Christensen, MSN, ARNP, FOMA

“Sam demonstrates an exemplary commitment to the advancement of obesity medicine in her clinical work and her service to the OMA as a trustee, as well as outside organizations to promote the understanding of the specialty.”


Committee Leadership Award

Dominique Williams

Dominique Williams, MD, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Williams has and continues to create a professional community that supports a thriving Pediatric Committee that in turn, supports OMA members, pediatric clinicians, and most importantly children and families struggling with the disease of obesity.”


Dr. Raymond Dietz Meritorious Service Award

Nancy Browne

Nancy Browne, MS, PPCNP-BC, CBN, FAANP, FAAN

“What is harder to define is the incredible mentorship of other clinicians Nancy is to others as they are working to provide care for our most vulnerable patients and their families. Nancy always says “yes” when asked to assist others.”


Steelman-Seim Educator Award for Excellence In Academics
