Sarah Holz, NP became a member of the OMA in 2019. She joined OMA because she was brand new to the field and wanted to learn as much as possible and ensure she was staying up to date on the latest content. One of Sarah’s favorite aspects of the networking opportunities OMA provides is how she has been able to connect with people from all over the country, and the world, that she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to otherwise meet and collaborate with.
Sarah has been able to utilize OMA benefits, such as the Obesity Algorithm, conferences, webinars, on-demand CME, and more to develop professionally. She is an active member of the membership committee. She says, “being on a committee allows me to connect and work alongside other members to make a greater impact on the field of obesity medicine than I would ever be able to do alone.”
Sarah will be in attendance of the fall conference in San Antonio later this year. In addition to all of the lectures, she cannot wait to connect with everyone. This will be her first conference in person since pre-pandemic. OMA conferences are her favorite. She always learns so much and believes it is so energizing and refreshing to be surrounded by like-minded people.
A message from Sarah to someone who is just starting out in obesity medicine:
“First, welcome to medicine’s best-
