2024-2025 OMA Board of Trustees Election

The election process for the 2024-2025 OMA Board of Trustees begins in January 2024.

Interested parties must submit a nomination to be considered for the ballot from January 29-February 11, 2024. Nominations closed February 11, 2024, at 11:59 pm ET. If submitting a nomination, potential nominees must be available for a one-hour committee interview between February 15-23, 2024, and must plan on attending Obesity Medicine 2024 to participate in the board installation on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

The voting period will be open to OMA members from March 5-18, 2024. The election slate will be posted to this page on March 5 and an email will be sent to members with the ballot.

The following positions are open for election and will be included on the 2024-2025 Board of Trustees election ballot:

Executive Committee (must have served a minimum of 2 years as a trustee to be considered):

  • President-Elect (12-month term)
  • Vice-President (12-month term)
  • Secretary/Treasurer (12-month term)

Trustee (strongly recommended that all applicants have been an OMA Member for a minimum of 3 years, have attended a minimum of 4 OMA events, and have actively served on at least one OMA committee):

  • Physician Trustee (24-month term): 3 open seats
  • Non-Physician Trustee (24-month term): 2 open seats
