We are not currently accepting travel award applications. The next application period will open in the summer of 2019.
Who May Apply for a Travel Award
Clinicians-in-training (students, interns, residents, or fellows) who have never attended a conference hosted by the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) may apply for a travel award. (Membership with OMA is not required to apply, although the clinician-in-training membership is only $25 per year!)
Travel award recipients will receive complimentary registration to OMA’s fall conference and reimbursement of travel expenses, up to $1,000, which may be used for lodging, travel, and meals for the conference, in accordance with the Obesity Treatment Foundation’s (OTF’s) reimbursement policy.
About the Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the Hal Seim Scholarship Fund is to honor the work and dedication of Dr. Hal Seim. Dr. Seim served as OMA’s CME program director for many years. He planned unique CME opportunities and provided clinicians with top-rated obesity medicine education.
Donations to the scholarship fund go toward travel awards for clinicians-in-training, providing them with an opportunity to attend an OMA conference at reduced or no cost.
