Pharmacological Treatment of Pediatric Patients with Obesity

Register

For many children and adolescents with obesity, lifestyle modification therapy is insufficient for achieving and sustaining clinically meaningful BMI reduction. Anti-obesity medications can be used as an adjunctive treatment strategy in this population, yet guidelines on their use are sparse. In this webinar, we will review the latest research on the use of pharmacotherapy for pediatric obesity and expert committee recommendations for utilizing this strategy in your pediatric obesity medicine practice.

Speaker: Claudia Fox, MD, MPH, Dipl. ABOM
Accreditation: 1 CME/CE*
Registration: Free for OMA Members; $24 for non-members

July 22 @ 6:00 PM (Eastern)
Treating Obesity in Medication Non-Responders or Under-Responders

Register

In treating obesity with pharmacotherapy, we may encounter patients who suffer adverse reactions to medications or do not respond to medications by losing at least 5% of their initial body weight within 3 months of treatment. This webinar will address approaches for managing such patients to successfully treat their obesity. We will discuss multiple case studies of non-response or under-response to anti-obesity medications and the approaches used in those cases, including the use of multiple medications, adjustment to dosing or delivery of medications, or non medication-based treatment options.

Speaker: Chikwa Anekwe, MD, MPH
Accreditation: 1 CME/CE*
Registration: Free for OMA Members; $24 for non-members

August 6 @ 12:00 PM (Eastern)
