This page provides updates regarding upcoming launch dates and potential outages as the Obesity Medicine Association upgrades technology systems including the member portal and the OMA Academy sites.
Member Portal Update Summer 2023
The OMA Member Portal is now available to log into and process memberships and bookstore orders. If you have an existing account, you should have received an email with a link to create your new account and finish updating your profile. If you did not receive this email, you can click on the Forgot Password link or contact our Membership Services Team at either info@obesitymedicine.org or via phone at (303) 770-2526. Certain functionality such as our Provider Directory and our Member Resources section is still being set up and will be available within the next few weeks.
OMA Academy Update Summer 2023
Thank you for your continued patience during this transition. Our team is aware of issues with transferring transcripts to the new platform. If you have been affected by this please email our Member Services Team at info@obesitymedicine.org with your personal information and details of the problem and we will work on resolving the problem for you.
Complete Academy Courses by July 10, 2023
All completed coursework in the Academy will remain in user accounts. Any “in progress” coursework within the OMA Academy cannot be moved from one system to the next. Users will need to complete the courses and submit credit claiming before we move systems. We encourage users to complete coursework and submit credit claiming no later than July 10, 2023, to ensure a smooth transition.
All previously purchased courses will be moved to the new system. If a course has been started, but not finished, any progress will be lost but the course itself will still transfer. Transcripts and completed course credit will be transferred over to the new system.
ABOM Exam Application & OMA Academy Transition
Here is a timeline of course/transcripts availability in the OMA Academy:
- The OMA Academy will be open and accessible to all users until 2400 EDT on Monday, 7/10/2023, in alignment with the ABOM’s early application deadline of 7/10/2023. Users will have access to all courses and CME transcript credits earned through the Academy up until this date/time.
- Beginning on Tuesday, 7/11/2023 0000 EDT, users will no longer have access to the OMA Academy to allow for the “blackout” period for the OMA to transition their IT platforms.
- During the “blackout” period, users will not be able to start or complete any CME activities or register for conference. If users have purchased OMA CME activities for the purpose of applying to take the ABOM exam by the early deadline of Monday, 7/10/2023, they must complete all CME activities by 2400 EDT on Monday, 7/10/2023.
- Once the “blackout” period has passed, beginning on Monday, 7/17/2023 (pending any delays), users will again be able to access courses and CME transcripts earned through the OMA Academy and register for conference.
